Archbishop of Vrhbosna cardinal Vinko Puljić and the head of the European Union delegation to BiH and the special representative for BiH, Johann Sattler, met on January 5th at the premises of the Archbishop's Residence in Sarajevo.
Mr. Sattler first congratulated the cardinal on the Christmas holidays and thanked him for being a “bridge builder” in the previous period. They then exchanged opinions on the situation in the country. They both agreed on the need to build a state and society in which everyone would be equal before the law and have the same rights, and that it was necessary to correct Dayton's mistakes. “Job can be done despite the complicated arrangement”, said the EU Special Representative for BiH. The Cardinal agreed with him, saying: “This should be the country of all its citizens and peoples.” Then they talked about the migrant crisis.
The meeting ended with common wishes for health and blessing in 2021.
It is worth mentioning that this was the first meeting between Cardinal Puljić and Mr. Sattler since his inauguration on September 1st 2019. Both have expressed a desire for future collaboration.
