On Saturday, September 21st, the Regular Session of the Pastoral Council of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna (PVVN) was held at the premises of the Ordinary of Vrhbosna in Sarajevo.
The session was chaired by Archbishop of Vrhbosna cardinal Vinko Puljić, with the participation of General Vicar Msgr. Slađan Ćosić, Provincial of the Franciscan Province Bosna Srebrena, OFM Jozo Marinčić, and about 20 councillors.
The meeting began in the morning with the call of the Holy Spirit and a prayer for the Synod, after which the notes of the last session from September 22nd 2018., were read and adopted.
The first item on the agenda followed: a review of the current Mission Year - October 2018/2019, and it was thought about mission activities in parishes, prayer for missions, and missions in the media.
Also, the issue of spiritual vocations in the local Church was discussed, what to do for the formation of priests, the reasons for the decrease in the number of spiritual vocations, the formation of the Catholic family. The need to work with ministers was emphasized because “the spiritual calling is growing at the altar”.
The next point was devoted to the Synod. Dr. Rev. Mario Bernadić, Secretary General of the Synod, outlined the steps towards the end of the Synod and the holding of a Synod Assembly that cannot be held without a working document (instrumentum laboris) preceded by drafts, ie guidelines, that will be presented in the new issue of the 12th Synod Bulletin.
The last item on the agenda was the pastoral calendar for 2020. The archbishop, along with the members, went through the calendar templates.
Eventually, space was left for questions, suggestions and comments, and after a brief discussion, the session was closed.
