Parish of St. John the Baptist in Travnik celebrated its heavenly patron on June 24th. The central Holy Mass was led by the Archbishop Coadjutor of Vrhbosna and Apostolic Administrator of the Military Ordinariate in BiH, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić.
There were about 15 priests in the concelebration with the archbishop, a deacon served, and more than 1 000 believers participated.
At the beginning, those present were greeted and welcomed by the parish priest and dean of the Travnik deanery, rev. Marko Mikić.
According to the tradition in this parish, the central Holy Mass was preceded by the so-called “mass for the sick”, this time led by the professor of ecclesiastical law at the KBF in Sarajevo and the parish priest in Ilijaš, Dr. rev. Ilija Marković. He also led the Holy Mass before the day of celebration, as well as the Eucharist on the third day of the three-day period. Through three days of preparation, the faithful were guided: on June 22nd, by the rector of the Travnik Seminary, rev. Željko Marić and on June 21st by the parish priest in Podkraj, rev. Mario Oršolić.
