Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Križevci, Msgr. Milan Stipić participated in a meeting of priests of the Greek Catholic Vicariate of BiH on July 2nd in Prnjavor.
The meeting was attended by the Vicar of the Diocese, Father Miroslav Krnješin, as well as all the priests of the Vicariate. Most of the topics were related to the organization of pastoral life in parishes with regard to protection measures prescribed due to coronavirus. Msgr. Stipić encouraged the priests to work even harder on pastoral-spiritual and charitable work with the faithful in these extraordinary circumstances.
As part of the visit of Ordinary by Stipić, Father Krnješin served a prayer (occasional prayer rite) in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the parish church in Prnjavor.
Let us remind, from 1890., the first Greek Catholics immigrated to the area of northern Bosnia, originating from the Transcarpathian regions of western Ukraine (Galicia).
The Bosnian-Slavonian Vicariate was established in 1978. After its abolition in 2005., the Greek Catholic Vicariate of the Diocese of Križevci in BiH was established, covering several parishes with several thousand believers, most of whom are Greek Catholic Ukrainians.
