New military chaplain was introduced to the service

On the memorial day of St. Agnes, virgin and martyr, January 21st under the Holy Mass in the chapel of St. Martin in the military barracks in Kiseljak, rev. Ljubo Zelenika was introduced to the service of military chaplain.

The Eucharist was led  by the Vicar General of the Military Ordinariate in BiH, Msgr. Željko Čuturić, and in addition to Rev. Ljubo, in concelebration was also rev. Josip Tadić. About 30 members of the BiH Armed Forces participated, including Deputy Commander Pero Budimir.

In the appropriate sermon, Msgr. Čuturić referred to the life of the saint whose memorial was celebrated that day and, among other things, said that a small, fragile being, such as the girl Agnes, held fast to her faith despite those who tortured and executed her. “It is such a bright spot, a sign, an example of courage and faith in Jesus Christ”, concluded Čuturić.

During the Eucharist, the new military chaplain, rev. Zelenika passed the confession of faith and signed the necessary documents by which he was introduced to the service. He will work in the barracks in Kiseljak and Dubrave near Živinice, and he will also remain the parish priest in Haljinići near Kakanj.

He succeeded the late priest of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, rev. Fr. Jakov Pavlović, who died of coronavirus consequences on November 18th 2020.
