Apostolic Nuncio in B&H Msgr. Luigi Pezzuto blessed a renovated house and chapel of the Franciscan School Sisters of the Bosnian-Croat Province of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Fojnica, on August 2nd.
The date of this event is associated in a special way with Franciscans through the feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Angels - known as Porcijunkule, and the restored sister house at the address Fra Anđela Zvizdovića bb was too small to receive all that came.
As ARTinfo reports, with the nuncio and numerous guests, the attendees were: the Provincial of the Franciscan Province of Bosna Srebrena OFM Jozo Marinčić, the economist of the Province and the former Fojnica Guardian, OFM Nikica Vujica, and the Provincial Head of the Order sister Kata Karadža.

This nun’s home is located one hundred meters below the Franciscan monastery of the Holy Spirit at the locality of Rupnovac.
Sisters lived and worked there from 1970 to 1993, and many believers and residents of Fojnica did not forget the time they could count on warm, human, nursing understanding and support of every kind.
The contract for the return of the sisters to the house in Rupnovac was signed on April 29th 2015, on the day of the foundation of the Province of Franciscian School Sisters of Bosnian-Croat Provinces of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and six years earlier, on the same date, then guardian of Fojnica OFM Nikica Vujica urged the believers to pray for the return of Sisters to Fojnica.
At the site in Rupnovac, 200 years ago there was a school held by Franciscians.

It was so influential that even in the Ottoman times it was said that in this area even the shepherds can write and read. With the help of the Viennese court in 1872 a folk classroom was built. At the beginning of the 1970’s, the Franciscans from the monastery handed this house to the Franciscian School nuns of the Bosnian-Croat province, who worked in the hospital, the Health Center and the Fojnica monastery. At the time of the war, sisters had to leave the house.
Thanks to the friars of the monastery of the Province of Bosna Srebrena, together with the former provincial OFM Lovro Gavran, the building was preserved and then restored and adapted. Today, three nuns are living and working here: sister Kata Rukavina (head of nuns), sister Tarzicija Vujica and sister Sidonija Pranješ.
