The solemn Eucharistic celebration was led by the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, cardinal Vinko Puljić with the concelebration of 15 priests.

Introducing to Holy Mass, the Archbishop of Vrhbosna invited the gathered faithful, about 200 of them, to pray for: the Carmelite Sisters, spiritual vocations, personal intentions, but especially for the German people affected by the devastating floods. In his homily, cardinal Puljić first reminded that this holiday has been celebrated at the level of the general Church since the 14^th century, but that the beginnings of this devotion date back to the 12^th century when the Crusades were fought. He noted that Mount Carmel is the place where Elijah prophesied and called for a commitment to the true God. “Carmel is a symbol of commitment to God, and Mary is a model for that. Mary's greatness is not because she conceived and gave birth to Jesus, but because she heard and obeyed the Word of God (…) The meaning of the Carmelite community is to choose to listen to God’s word, not only with ears, but also with heart”, said among other things the Cardinal.

At the end, words of gratitude were expressed by the parish priest of Stup, rev. Miroslav Ćavar also congratulated the patron on behalf of all the gathered sisters and thanked them for their prayers and presence in that parish.
