Patron in the sign of 150 years since the arrival of the sisters

The Sisters of Charity celebrated the feast of their founder and patron saint of the Church of St. Vincent in Sarajevo.

The Holy Mass was led by the Bishop of Banja Luka, Msgr. Franjo Komarica. Nine priests concelebrated and about 20 nuns from various societies participated, led by the Provincial Superior of the Sisters of Charity, sister Julijana Djaković.

In his homily, Bishop Komarica reminded that the celebration of the co-founders of the Society of the Sisters of Charity takes place in an atmosphere of celebration of the 150th anniversary of their arrival in BiH. He then explained that from the life and example of St. Vincent can be read a lot, which authentic Christianity both preaches and practices as its values valuable to the entire human race. In the continuation, Bishop Franjo reminded of the biography of this saint and especially singled out his charitable interest in the poor.

Let us remind that the sisters started the jubilee year on November 15th 2020 - 150 years since their arrival in BiH (1871-2021), which will be closed on November 14th in the Sarajevo Cathedral.
