Patron of the chaplaincy of St. John Capistran

Sarajevo Military Chaplaincy of St. John Capistran, brought together believers, employees of the Ministry of Defense and members of the Armed Forces from Sarajevo, Pazarić and Pale, for celebration of its heavenly patron on October 21st.

Holy Mass in the church of St. Cyril and Methodius within the Vrhbosna Theological Seminary was led  by the Archbishop Coadjutor of Vrhbosna and Apostolic Administrator of the Military Ordinariate, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić.

The Vicar General and the soul carer of this chaplaincy, Msgr. Željko Čuturić, Chancellor rev. Josip Tadić and Military Chaplain from Rajlovac rev. Ivo Jezidžić, concelebrated in the Holy Mass celebration.

Civilians and soldiers were present, led by Deputy Defense Minister Mijo Krešić and General Ivica Jerkić.

In his homily, Archbishop Vukšić pointed out that the saints are fully realized Christians. Then, starting from the picture from the Gospel about the need to wait for the Lord of life “with girded hips and with lighted lamps”, he warned that these are Jesus' calls to action and the need for wisdom and understanding in every action. “These are two methods of Christian advancement in one's own consecration recommended by Jesus. They have been applied and realized by the saints, including John Capistran”, said Msgr. Vukšić.

The Holy Mass was animated by the professor of music, rev. Marko Stanušić.
