The only parish in the Vrhbosna Archdiocese that for its patron has the Feast of Transfiguration, solemnly, on August 6th, celebrated its patron.
Holy Mass was led by the general vicar of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese Msgr. Slađan Ćosić concelebrating with 16 priests among whom were: dean of the Sutjeska deanery dr. rev. Pero Brkić and parish priest host rev. Vlado Vrebac.
In an appropriate sermon msgr. Ćosić reflecting on the read passage from the gospel that was about Jesus’ transformation on the Mount Tabor, reminded of the moment in which the God second time witnessed for his Son after the first baptism in Jordan. Continuing, he explained the first reading from the Book of the prophet Daniel where after persecution, God establishes his power, honour and kingdom.
At the end of Holy Mass pastor Vrebac said thank you and then socialising followed.
Parish of Borovica is situated in the area of municipality Vareš, on the height of 1 202 metres. Before the war it had about 1 500 believers, and according to the last family blessings, the parish has 47 people in 35 families.
With patron celebration, started preparation for marking 100th anniversary of the parish in 2022.
