Patron of the parish of Vogošća

In the parish of St. Mother Teresa in the Sarajevo suburb of Vogošća on Saturday, September 5th, the heavenly patroness of this small religious community was celebrated with Holy Mass in the evening.

The Eucharist was celebrated by the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, cardinal Vinko Puljić.

Among others, parish priest and presbyter Missio ad Gentes venerable Michele Capasso, dean of the Sarajevo deanery and parish priest in the cathedral venerable Mato Majić and the young priest and parish vicar in Vogošća, rev. Ante Ljulj, also concelebrated.

In a mosaic sermon, the Archbishop first briefly presented the biography of the saint of our days, emphasizing “how she had the charism to find Jesus in every poor person.” He then encouraged those present to strive to imitate the saints in life. In the end, he spoke about the short and important answers of St. Mother Teresa to life’s questions, emphasizing the saint’s thoughts that the most beautiful thing in the world is love, the best medicine is optimism, and the best day for life is today.

The Eucharistic celebration was animated by theologians of the Archdiocesan Missionary International Seminary Redemptoris Mater in Vogošća.

About 50 believers took part in the Holy Mass.

Socializing continued in front of the parish house and around the family table.
