Permanent education of young priests


A meeting of permanent education for young priests of the Herzegovina dioceses and the Franciscan province there, was held on March 23rd at the House of Prayer in Masna Luka, in the municipality of Posušje.

The meeting was attended by: the Bishop of Mostar and Duvno and the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Trebinje and Mrkan, Msgr. Petar Palić and the Provincial of the Franciscan Province of Herzegovina, OFM Miljenko Šteko. The leader was the rector of the seminary in Split, Dr. rev. Đulijano Trdić.

This year’s meeting was a kind of refreshment for the implementation of the Synodal Way that takes place in the general Church. The lecturers, each from the perspective of their field of activity, tried to encourage about 30 priests ordained in the last ten years to think more deeply about the faith and to truly live the vocation by walking together in the ways of the Lord.

The introductory reflection was given by Dr. Trdić on the topic of Temptation on the way to the achieved vocations. The second lecture The importance of permanent construction according to church documents was given by Msgr. Palić. The young priests were also addressed by the Provincial, OFM Miljenko, and the host, OFM Josip Vlašić, took care of a pleasant stay in the mountain air and in a prayerful environment.

The highlight of the one-day meeting was a Holy Mass celebration.
