At the memorial monument in Dusina, Mass was led by OFM Josip Mihael Matijanić, parish vicar at the parish of St. Anthony of Padua in Busovača. Families and friends of the casualties, as well as other believers from the parishes of Central Bosnia attended the Mass.

OFM Josip, at the beginning of his sermon reminded of the suffering of Croats in village Dusina 25 years ago.

„Today, after quarter of a century, we are at a point that uniquely divides our time to past and future. When we look back, since the unfortunate date and through 25 years, we are aware of our sorrow, bitterness and even hate and contempt. It is extremely difficult to see that a man's life can be so cheap, especially when it's someone close to us. It is also difficult to live with the fact that a man is capable of doing such evil to another man“, said OFM Josip and thanked all the people that in those difficult and critical times were ready to defend their loved ones, even at the cost of their own lives.

He also said that it is justifiable to mourn the death of our loved ones and that even Jesus cried over his friend Lazarus.

„From Dusina there is a view to the future. Unfortunately, it is equally hard as the view to the past. The fact is that there is no reconciliation without justice and truth, and righteousness demands that every person answer for the evil it did. We know the truth but righteousness in our country always escapes. For slaughter in Dusina, somebody should answer“, he said and pointed out that that responsibility shouldn't be asked because of hatred or revenge, but to state that evil will be punished. OFM Josip pointed out that if evil is being hidden and not talked about, tomorrow it will appear in even worse form.

After the Mass the gathering continued with unavoidable war stories.

For the past 20 and more years, members of the Association of volunteers and veterans of HVO from Busovača pay their respect and recall the sacrifice of their compatriots and defenders in the village of Dusina.

The commemorative mass is an overture to the commemoration that was held a day after in the cinema hall Theatre of the Napredak's home in Busovača, with the beginning at 16.30. The programme paid the respect to the victims of Dusina and other unfortunate places.

Vesna Kegelj, daughter of the killed Vinko, also an organiser of the commemoration, in a statement for web portal grad-busovaca.com said that the anniversary of the crimes in Dusina bares painful wounds that will never heal.

„My wish was to organize a commemoration together with the veteran's associations from Busovača so we could all with the deepest respect remember the killed ones in Dusina, and it came true. With a brief programme and presentation we will remember innocent victims that were killed in Dusina“, Vesna said, whose family lost five members in the same day. Together with five Kegeljs (Vinko, Stipo, Mladen, Draženko and Niko), in Dusina were also killed: Vojo Stanišić, Augustin Radoš, Pero Ljubičić, Franjo Rajić and Zvonko Rajić.

Let's recall: murders in Dusina was done by the members of the 7th Muslim’s brigade that was a part of 3rd corpus of Army of BiH. This action was commanded by Šerif Patković, for whom Željka Rajić (the wife of Zvonko Rajić) as a witness in the Hague said, bragged about killing her husband personally.

Although all the actors of the crime in Dusina, as well as the killing of the prisoner Zvonko Rajić, are known to the international and domestic judiciary, still nobody is convicted. The crime in Dusina is an example of ethnic cleansing, since not one Croat returned to this village even after two decades.
