A seminar for the power of confession was held in the premises of the Vrhbosna Theological Seminary in Sarajevo on September 1st and 2nd, with the participation of 25 diocesan and religious priests who do not have the permanent authority to administer this sacrament.
The coordinator of the seminar was the Vicar General of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, Msgr. Slađan Ćosić.
The first lecture, in moral theology, was given by a professor of Franciscan theology, Dr. sc. OFM Velimir Valjan. Then in the church of St. Cyril and Methodius, Holy Mass was celebrated and led by the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, cardinal Vinko Puljić.
In the afternoon, a lecture on canon law was given by a professor at the KBF and the parish priest in Ilijaš, Dr. rev. Ilija Marković. The last presentation, from pastoral theology, was given by the director of Caritas BiH, mr. sc. Msgr. Tomo Knežević.
The next day, on September 2nd, exams were held. The priests who took this third participation in the seminar took it orally, and the others had a written test.
At 12 o'clock a Holy Mass was celebrated, led by cardinal Vinko Puljić, who spoke in a sermon to those present about the qualities that priests desperately need. Among them, he emphasized obedience, humility and enthusiasm.
