Session of the Editorial Board of Katolički tjednik, chaired by the Archbishop of Vrhbosna cardinal Vinko Puljić, was held on February 18th in the premises of the Ordinariate.
The director of the Media Centre of Vrhbosna Archdiocese, rev. Miroslav Ćavar and editor-in-chief of Katolički tjednik and web-portal Nedjelja.ba, rev. Josip Vajdner and members: Chancellor of VN venerable Mladen Kalfić; director of the NCM rev. Šimo Maršić; journalist Brane Vrbić; parish priest in Radunice near Žepče, rev. Ilija Orkić; Secretary General of the BK BiH, Msgr. Ivo Tomašević; director of KŠC Sv. Pavao Zenica rev. Vlatko Rosić; and the Head of the Public Relations Office and the spokesperson of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna, Rev. Dražen Kustura; also participated.
There were four items on the agenda: analysis of the content and arrangement of Katolički tjednik (KT), the Nedjelja.ba web-portal, the future of the KT project and other.
After the prayer and greetings, Director Ćavar thanked the members of the council for their work so far and welcomed the new member, rev. Kustura. Editor-in-Chief Vajdner, spoke about the work of KT in the period from 2019. to 2021. In the continuation, there was talk about the Nedjelja.ba web-portal and about the future of these two media. The sad fact that was detected was that many parish priests in pastoral care do not use or support this media that is in the service of the new evangelization.
It was proposed to declare Nedjelja Katoličkog tjednika (Sunday of Katolički tjednik) at the archdiocese level, and ideas for 2022. were discussed, when the 100th anniversary of the publication of Katolički tjednik’s predecessor, Nedjelja, and the 20th anniversary of the re-launch of Katolički tjednik would be marked.
