Feast of St. Joseph was solemnly celebrated in the parish of the same name in Zenica on March 19th.
The central Eucharist was celebrated and led by the parish priest of Kupres, rev. Tomo Mlakić, and in the concelebration there were 11 priests, including the parish priest rev. Davor Topić.
In his sermon, rev. Mlakić first remembered August of 1994, war time, when as a young man he came to his first priestly service in Zenica, in the parish of Crkvica. He said that those pictures are still alive. He went on to talk about the image of a God who is good, merciful, and infinitely loving. Observing the modern way of turning away from the Creator, he called the faithful to prayer, the Christian life, raising their voices against injustice. In the final part, he spoke about the two characteristics of St. Joseph that believers can learn, and that is trusting in God and constantly seeking Him. “Teach us, St. Joseph, let us never stop looking for Jesus as you, together with Mary, did in the days when you were looking for him”, said the parish priest of Kupres.
Before the final blessing, deacon rev. Paolo Coelho led the Litany of St. Joseph.
It is worth mentioning that the parishioners prepared for the patron with a novena through the nine Wednesdays that are a decades-long tradition in the City of Steel.
