Solemnly celebrated patron of the parish

On July 20th, in addition to the Day of the Municipality, Kiseljak also celebrated its heavenly patron St. Elijah by praying and thanking the patron saint of the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The concelebrated Holy Mass on the external altar in front of the parish church was led by OFM Bruno Ćubela, professor of moral theology at the Franciscan Theology in Sarajevo.

Trying to modernize the character of this Old Testament prophet, OFM Bruno said: “Saint Elijah combines the historical, but also the legendary, and we should remember him as an Old Testament prophet who proclaimed faith in one God. His basic task was to speak and we in life must know how to prioritize to know who is in the first place. Elijah proved that this can be God, by advocating for truth and justice.”

In the end, the parish priest OFM Zoran Vuković, thanked everyone who participated in the celebration of the Holy Mass, but also who participated in the preparation of the same, and congratulated those who celebrate their name day, as well as the Day of the Municipality of Kiseljak.
