Thanksgiving Mass at Sarajevo Cathedral at the end of 2019.


The thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration at the end of 2019. in the evening of December 31st at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Sarajevo, was led by Archbishop of Vrhbosna, cardinal Vinko Puljić.

Among others, the military bishop of BiH, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić and Cathedral parish priest venerable Mato Majić, concelebrated. Domestic believers were joined by some Catholics who had come to celebrate the New Year in the BiH capital, whose streets and squares were ceremonially decorated for the occasion.

In his sermon, cardinal Puljić again called for gratitude to God at the end of 2019.

“We are entering the new year with a surrender into the hands of God given to the guidance of the Holy Spirit to be the people of faith who will recognize God through the eyes of faith in the created, in our conscience and in all people with whom we should make pilgrimages with Jesus who has become our earthly pilgrim”, said the archbishop Puljić.

At the end of the Holy Mass, the congregation sang the liturgical song - We praise Thee God. During the Eucharist celebration, the Cathedral Mixed Choir Josip Stadler sang under the conduct of rev. Marko Stanušić.
