On Saturday, May 27th, the 52nd Youth Day of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese was celebrated in the parish of Komušina and on Kondžilo hill.
The organizers were the Archbishop's Centre for Youth Pastoral Care Ivan Pavao II (John Paul II). and the parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Komušina, and the motto of the meeting was Let's Walk in the Paths of the Lord (Isaiah 2:3).
Numerous pilgrims
According to a long-standing tradition, the pilgrims who arrived from the early hours of the morning first gathered at the outdoor altar behind the parish church, where a penitential service was held, led by the pastoral associate at the NCM and professor at the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Sarajevo, rev. Ljubo Zadrić, and after that there was an opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation.
This was followed by an invitation from the parish priest and guardian of the sanctuary, rev. Boris Salapić to pray in front of the image of Our Lady of Komušina, led by the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Metropolitan Msgr. Tomo Vukšić. After the blessing of those who carried the image, a solemn procession began in which the image of Our Lady was carried, the rosary was prayed and Marian songs were sung.

Arriving at Kondžilo hill, where the outdoor altar and chapel are located, there was again an opportunity for confession until the start of the Eucharistic celebration led by Msgr. Vukšić with the concelebration of the Vicar General of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, Msgr. Slađan Ćosić, parish priest Salapić and about 15 other priests.
At the beginning, Archbishop Tomo greeted the gathered, sending a special greeting to the young people celebrating their day.
Doing the will of God
After the scriptural readings read by Marko Babić from Prozor parish and Dragana Pejić from Svilaj parish, the archbishop delivered an appropriate sermon in which, among other things, he said that the doing of God's will is manifested in two ways: in personal and communal prayer, public confession of faith and through devotions, and in a personal life that is in harmony with the will and rules of God. He emphasized the importance of responsibility in personal and family life, adding that "only in this way our confession of faith and our saying that we are Christians becomes a testimony for Christ, and our prayers and other pious exercises find their fulfilment and bring the desired fruit".

He also emphasized the importance of permanent conversion and returning to God's ways, and called on the young and gathered believers to dare to choose the Lord's paths every day and walk in them.
Participation of the youth
The prayer of the faithful was read and gifts were presented by scouts from the parish of St. Luke the Evangelist from Sarajevo's Novi Grad and the Holy Trinity parish from Novi Travnik.
The liturgy was musically animated by members of the youth choir of the Sacred Heart of Jesus from Prozor.
At the end of the Holy Mass celebration, the host priest expressed his gratitude to those who came, and especially to those who participated in any way in organizing the Youth Day.
After the Holy Mass, the faithful again headed towards the church in a procession, during which the rosary was prayed and Marian songs were sung, where Archbishop Vukšić brought the prayer part of the Youth Day to an end.
There, refreshments were organized for everyone, and after lunch there was a program for young people, in which the participants presented their work in groups from the previous day, and animation games were arranged.
By the way, the celebration of Youth Day began a day earlier, on Friday, May 26th, with a vigil Holy Mass, a concert and testimony by OFM Marin Karačić, as well as with a workshop for young people and night Way of the Cross.
