Dr. Ivo Pilar's book “Južnoslavensko pitanje i svjetski rat” (The South Slav issue and the world war) was presented on March 26th in Mostar.
It contains 660 pages and is divided into 7 parts: the origin of the Balkan Slavs, Croats and their state constitution, the Serbs and their constitution of the state, Bosnia and Bosnian constitution of the state, Catholicism and Orthodoxy, the core of the South Slav issue, monarchy and southern Slavs, Croatian-Serbian aspirations for unity, a solution to the South Slav issue.
“The book is extremely interesting right now because of what we are now experiencing. What he wrote is almost a prophecy”, said academic Josip Muselimović.
Ivo Pilar was a Croatian lawyer, historian, publicist, philosophical writer, considered to be the founder of Croatian geopolitics and a centre politician. From the beginning of the 20th century he lived and worked in BiH, and from 1920. until his death, in Zagreb.
The Institute of Social Sciences in Zagreb is named after him.
