The construction of the church of Bl. Drina martyrs

On Tuesday, July 13th, in Goražde, the construction of the first church dedicated to Bl. Martyrs of Drina stated, precisely in the city where they suffered martyrdom.

The excavation works are being carried out by the Armed Forces of BiH, and a construction contract was recently signed with Markan d.o.o.

As pointed out by the administrator of the parish in Goražde and the chancellor in the Military Ordinariate of BiH, rev. Josip Tadić, construction began on schedule, and rough work should be completed by December 15th when these Blesseds are commemorated. “We hope and believe that for the memorial day of Bl. martyrs of Drina, we will celebrate Holy Mass in the church”, said rev. Tadić and noted that this project was enthusiastically accepted and followed, not only by Catholics, but also by all citizens of that city.

It should be emphasized that the complex, in addition to the church, will have: a museum, a memorial room, a square and an inn. The Vrhbosna Archdiocese is the investor in the project, and the City Administration has previously issued a building permit. Construction began in the year marking the 80th anniversary of the martyrdom of the nuns and the 10 years since they were beatified.
