The "lower" church celebrated the patron saint

On the feast of the Holy Trinity, May 30th, the parish of the same name in Novi Travnik celebrated its patron saint.

The Holy Mass in the parish church was led by the Carmelite Dr. father Zvonko Martić in the concelebration of a dozen priests. Gathered believers were greeted  at the beginning by the parish priest rev. Anto Ledić.

In his sermon, father Zvonko spoke about the demographic processes in Croatia and connected the mystery of the Holy Trinity with the process of creating a new life. “Birth does not depend on what you have, but on how much you believe that new life is a gift from God”, said Father Zvonko, adding that by accepting one’s own cross, praising God and not compromising with evil, one lives righteously.

After the Holy Mass in front of the church, there was a refreshment party.

For this year’s celebration of the patron saint, the community of believers prepared with a Triduum and spiritual program led by the charismatic Mijo Barada.

By the way, the parish of the Holy Trinity was founded in 2003. by separating the settlement from Rankovići and the parish of the Ascension of the Lord in Novi Travnik. Since the city got two parishes, the people called the old church as “upper”, and the new one “lower”. In addition to the cover of the Holy Trinity, co-patrons of the parish are Bl. Drina martyrs.
