The 17th meeting of choirs of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna was held in Sarajevo on May 18th, and 16 church choirs participated.
First, the Holy Mass was celebrated which was led by msgr. Ivo Tomašević, general secretary of Bishop’s conference of BiH, with concelebration of four other priests.
To the singers whose voices filled the cathedral, he conveyed the greetings of the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, cardinal Vinko Puljić and expressed the joy of communion.
After the Mass, followed the choir performances, and the choirs presented themselves with two church songs each.
Choirs that performed were: the choir of Vrhbosna’s seminary Stjepan Hadrović; the choir of the parish of St. Michael – Vareš; the choir of the parish of Holy Trinity – Novi Travnik; the choir from the parish of St. Anthony of Padua – Žepče; the choir from the parish of St. Joseph – Zavidovići; youth choir Iuvenes Salinarum from the parish of St. Peter and Paul – Tuzla; the choir from the parish Elevation of the Holy Cross – Bistrica by Žepče; choir of the parish of Sacred heart of Jesus – Brčko; choir of the seminary and mixed choir of Catholic school centre Petar Barbarić – Travnik; choir of the parish of Assumption of BVM – Dolac; choir of the parish of St. Anthony of Padua – Bugojno; choir Ave Crux Spe unica from Golubinje – parish Žepče; choir Bl. Marija Petković from parish of Assumption of BVM – Uskoplje; choir of the parish of Scred Heart of Jesus – cathedral Sarajevo; choir of the parish of St. Anthony of Padua – Busovača and the mixed choir Josip Stadler from Sarajevo managed by prof. Marko Stanušić who managed the choir meeting as well.
The program that was led by sister Nikolina Džavić was completed by handing out thank you notes to the participants and collective photographing in front of the Sarajevo cathedral. Singing from the church then continued at the family table at the Priest’s Home.
