At the level of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, in all deaneries, on March 16th, the ninth round of deanery sessions was held within the framework of the synodal walk. In the parish of Žepče, about 80 priests and parish councillors of the Žepče deanery gathered.
According to established practice, first, the sacred mass was celebrated, which, together with the concelebration of 17 priests of this deanery, gathering 15 parishes, was led by rev. Josip Vajdner, editor of Katolički tjednik and member of the Commission for the Preparation of the First Synod of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese.
Among other things, in commemorative homily he spoke of co-responsibility as a “divine category” which should be one of the qualities of today's Catholic believers. He briefly pointed to the essential features of the Holy Mass and reminded that Christ is the foundation upon which the Church, as the Mystical Body, builds communion. In that context, he also told a fable that illustrates the fact that no one should be deaf to the problems and distress of their close people.
He encouraged the parishioners and councillors to show awareness of responsibility about the actual mission of the Church, in the first synodal walk of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese.
After the Mass, there was a working part of the meeting in the parish church which was moderated by venerable Predrag Stojčević, dean of the Žepče Deanery and parish priest in Žepče.
There, the councillors and(or) parish priests of all the parishes in deanery, except Novi Šeher, first verbally expressed their thoughts on the subject of the Church's social teaching and gave a written report. Then the representative of the Committee of the Synod had a lecture titled Life and Growth in Faith. About Christian Catechesis and Religious Pedagogy.
Then there was a debate after which the present filled in the survey “on the sacramental practice of our local Church”.
The meeting ended with a joint lunch at the parish pastoral centre Josip Stadler.
