The parish of Brčko celebrated the patron saint

On the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, June 11th, the religious community in Brčko celebrated its patron saint.

The Holy Mass was celebrated on the plateau next to the church by the parish vicar from Dubrave, OFM Ivan Pilić, in concelebration with the parish priest and the dean of the Brčko deanery, OFM Damir Ivanović and about dozen priests.

In his homily, OFM Ivan pointed out that by celebrating the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, “we celebrate God’s love for man” and pointed out that in the Old Testament good people were said to be “according to God’s heart”. “Through the prophets, God constantly speaks of a change of heart”, said OFM John, noting that the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus teaches “that we must not fail against others”. He explained in the end how a heart that is calm in God can beat for others, can love rightly and meaningfully.

The Eucharist was animated by the parish choir of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and about 250 believers participated.
