The parish of Crkvice celebrated its patron saint

The parish of Crkvice, one of the five parishes in Zenica, solemnly celebrated the feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on December 8th, the patron of this community of believers.

The Holy Mass was led by the Vicar General of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, Msgr. Slađan Ćosić. With him concelebrating were eight priests, among whom were the dean of the Žepa deanery, venerable Predrag Stojčević and the parish priest rev. Anto Dominković, who said greetings at the begining.

In the appropriate sermon, Msgr. Ćosić said Catholics believe that Mary was exempt from any influence of evil and sin that could not inflict any wound or damage on her innocence. “We know that Mary was completely open to God's action in her life, which does not diminish her ability to make free decisions. In this sense, today's celebration is an opportunity to reflect on our decisions: they point to our fundamental choices on which our happiness here on earth depends, but also our ‘destiny’ up in heaven”, said, among other things, the Vicar General.

Before the final blessing, rev. Dominković led the devotion to Our Lady of Prompt Succor, which is especially honoured in this parish, and thanked everyone who contributed to the celebration of the patron saint.
