The Penitential pilgrimage to Hrasno


The parishes of Stolac, Rotimlja, Stjepan Krst, Gradina and Tepčići led by their parish priests on the Third Lent Sunday (Nameless), March 24th, went on a Penitential pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Queen of Peace in Hrasno.

In the shrine, first there was the Way of the cross on the Our Lady Hill, which was led in prayer by the parish priests with the young people of their parishes, and the chaplain led the singing. Representatives of the parish Stolac: Ivan, Karla and Viktorija with the parish priest rev. Rajko Markovic prayed at the five stations of the Way of the Cross.

After that, there was opportunity for the sacrament of confession, and then, with the concelebration of the parish priest, mass was led by parish vicar of Čapljina, rev. Dragan Filipović. In the end, everyone was greeted by local parish priest rev. Antun Pavlović, who thanked everyone present as well.

The Mass was ministered by the ministrants of the parishes of Hrasno and Stolac, and the liturgical singing was led by young people from Gradina together with the youth of other parishes. The reading and prayer of the faithful were read by the young people of pilgrimage parishes. After worship, they all returned to their homes satisfied and enriched with spiritual content of the Shrine of the Queen of Peace in Hrasno.

Hrasno is located in the hinterland of Neum in the Trebinje-Mrkan diocese in the center of the Mostar - Dubrovnik airfield. It is located at an altitude of about 250 meters and is surrounded by hills, among which are the most famous: Žaba in the southwest and Budisavina in the north. It has a small amount of cultivated land and is mostly covered with short forests, and with the climate that it has it is ideal area for tobacco growing. For centuries, they are on the border between worlds, states and cultures.
