The sacraments of initiation shared to adults


Parish of St. John the Baptist in Travnik on June 4th became richer for three new baptized persons.

According to the approval of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese’s Ordinariate in Sarajevo, the parish priest and dean of the Travnik deanery, venerable Marko Mikić, during the Holy Mass, gave the sacraments of Christian initiation - baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation - to Dragan, Nenad and Vita. On the same day, Daniela received Holy Confirmation. Also, the day before, on June 3rd, Olivera had her first Holy confession who received Holy Confirmaion, Holy Communion and she was married in church the very next day.

Venerable Mikić, in a short homily, explained the importance of the sacraments, emphasizing that in addition to the visible part of the sacraments, there is also the invisible, but also the most important - consecrated grace.

The Holy Mass was animated by the parish choir under the direction of sister Anđela and assisted by the deacon rev. Ivan Matijević.

After the Holy Mass, refreshments were held, and the celebrants were written down in the registers of baptisms, confirmations, weddings, as well as in the Book of the First Communion. On that occasion, the parish priest handed out memories of the sacraments received.
