To follow the Holy Trinity

On Sunday, June 7th, on the feast of the Holy Trinity, the parish of the same name in Novo Sarajevo solemnly celebrated its patron saint.

The Holy Mass celebration was led by the educator and spiritual guide at the Archbishop's Seminary Petar Barbarić in Travnik, rev. Jakov Kajinić, who was the war parish vicar of this religious community. A dozen priests concelebrated, and at the beginning the gathered were greeted by parish priest, rev. Marinko Filipović.

In his sermon, rev. Kajinić pointed out that in the “sea of theology and theological concepts, the most important thing is to follow the Holy Trinity”. “I will say three things where we can follow the Holy Trinity today. The first feature of the Holy Trinity is communion - the communion of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, what connects the three persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - is love! And the third sign of the three Divine Persons is constant activity. The Father creates us even now, the Son constantly redeems us, the Holy Spirit sanctifies us”, said, among other things rev. Jakov.

Liturgical singing was animated by the parish choir with organ accompaniment by member of the parish who is also a conductor, Darijo Vučić.

The parish was preparing for this celebration with three-day Holy Masses, and the morning Holy Mass on the day of the patron saint was led by Dr. rev. Josip Knežević, professor at the Sarajevo Catholic Theological Faculty.
