On Tuesday, December 8th, the Sarajevo Cathedral celebrated the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, co-patron of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, and commemorated the death of the first Archbishop of Vrhbosna Josip Stadler.
At the same time, the Province of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Servants of the Little Jesus (SMI), based in Sarajevo, celebrated its patron saint. The Holy Mass was led by the postulator of the cause for the beatification of the Servant of God Archbishop Stadler, Msgr. Pavo Jurišić with the concelebration of four priests.
In his sermon, prof. Jurišić presented the content of this feast which is presented in the bull Ineffabilis Deus (Unspeakable God) where it says that “the Blessed Virgin Mary in the first moment of her conception, by the unique grace and privilege of Almighty God, in anticipation of the merits of Jesus Christ the Savior of mankind, was preserved from every stain of original sin”.
Liturgical singing was animated by the cathedral mixed choir Josip Stadler under the direction of rev. Marko Stanušić.
At the end of the Holy Mass, the priests visited the tomb of Servant of God Stadler and prayed for his beatification.
After the final blessing, the SMI sisters with the Provincial Superior, sister Ana Marija Kesten, prayed and sang at the tomb of their founder, and then continued their socialising in the monastery Egipat.
