Parish of St. Elijah the Prophet in Kandija near Bugojno had a triple celebration in one day. On July 20th, the parish patron, the sacrament of the Holy Communion was given and the silver Holy Mass of rev. Tomislav Markić was celebrated.
The Holy Mass was led by Msgr. Ratko Perić, Bishop of Mostar-Duvno and Apostolic Administrator of Trebinje-Mrkan, with the concelebration of 14 priests. On that occasion, Bishop Ratko shared the sacrament of the first communion with two girls and two boys, and in his sermon he emphasized that the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrates St. Elijah since he is the protector of this state. Through stories, he stated how important it is not to sell your ancestry, the land of your ancestors, because that is like selling those people too.
At the very end, the silver jubilee priest, rev. Tomislav addressed the gathered, emphasizing the importance of the roots. “You give us strength, you are our roots”, he said, adding: “Our future is in connection, in connection with you who have remained.”
