Visiting the cemetery and praying for the deceased

At the Campo Verano Roman Cemetery, at the Feast of All Saints, priest students, nuns and staff of the Pontifical Croatian Institute of St. Jerome in Rome, led by rector msgr. Božo Radoš and Vice-rector rev. Marko Đurin, together prayed at the graves of their countrymen.

The prayer was first held at the Institute tomb. After the singing of the psalms and holy readings, msgr. Radoš urged everyone to pray for the dear deceased who had completed their earthly journey, to remember them, and to always bear in mind that the goodness they displayed for worldly life could never be closed up in a limited space of the grave. On the contrary, it lives today, and we feel and inherit it, said msgr. Radoš “and therefore we should always be aware of it and thank God for it”.

After praying at the Institute tomb, they all headed to the second part of the cemetery, where the remains of the Sisters of Mercy and the Sisters of the Daughters of Mercy lie, and together they prayed for the peace of their souls.

Members of the Institute community at the Campo Verano Cemetery were joined by other Sisters of Mercy and Daughters of Mercy, as well as lay faithful who live and work in various services in the city of Rome.
