In the cathedral in Sarajevo on Sunday of Devine Mercy on April 19th at 10:30, Archbishop of Vrhbosna cardinal Vinko Puljić led the Holy Mass, which could be directly followed through our web-portal “Nedjelja.ba”.

On the second Easter Sunday, the Sunday of Devine Mercy is celebrated. On this occasion, the Holy Mass was led by cardinal Puljić in concelebration with Archbishop coadjutor Msgr. Tomo Vukšić, Sarajevo Dean and Cathedral parish priest venerable Mato Majić, Msgr. Slađan Ćosić and the Cardinal's secretary, Rev. Štefan Marković.

At the beginning, the present priests were greeted by the parish priest Majić, making a brief introduction to the very feast of the Sunday of Divine Mercy.

After the biblical readings and the proclaimed Gospel, cardinal Vinko delivered a sermon. “The first thing I would ask all of us - what is the thing that one craves most, what does he really care about? This question I have repeatedly asked the children in religious education while I was teaching. The children would answer very quickly - we all want to be happy. Then I would ask - then what do you think, children, makes us the most happy? And they answered very quickly: love! Love makes people happy, without love man is unhappy (...) Jesus is the one who loves me (... .) Thomas experienced this – his Teacher who showed him wounds - these are signs of my love for you and for all. So many people are unhappy in seeking, they lost their direction because they have followed their wit. When they discovered the secret - God loves me, it cannot be spoken in words. This is the moment when a man discovers God, meets God, and like Thomas falls to his knees - My Lord and my God (...) To meet God is to discover that I am a loved being, that is the Sunday of Divine Mercy”, said the cardinal among other things.

At the end of the Holy Mass, before the blessing, Archbishop Puljić and venerable Majić in front of the image of the Merciful Jesus, prayed devotional prayer to the Divine Mercy.
