Archbishop Coadjutor of Vrhbosna, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić led the Easter vigil without people on Wednesday, April 11th at the Sarajevo Cathedral. Holy Mass was broadcasted directly by BHRT.

There were several priests at the concelebration, among them were: Archbishop of Vrhbosna cardinal Vinko Puljić; Secretary General of the BK BiH Msgr. Ivo Tomašević; until recently Vicar General Msgr. Slađan Ćosić; Rector of Vrhbosna Theological Seminary Zdenko Spajić; Rector of Cathedral Msgr. Anto Meštrović; Cathedral parish priest and Dean of the Sarajevo Deanery venerable Mato Majić; Secretary of the Archbishop of Vrhbosna rev. Štefan Marković and professor at KBF Sarajevo Oliver Jurišić.

Nun Zrinka Barišić, who read the first reading and the Prayer of the Believers, also participated.

Due to the regulations made because of the coronavirus, the part of the vigil in which the fire was to be blessed was left out, followed immediately by the hymn to the Easter candle symbolizing the Risen Lord Jesus Christ.

Three Old Testament readings were then read, among which were readings of the creation of the world and of man, and reading of the passage of the Israeli people across the Red Sea, with appropriate psalms between the readings.

This was followed by the solemn singing of Glory. After the New Testament text was read, the great news of Christ's resurrection was announced, after which Msgr. Vukšić sang Alleluia. Finally, the gospel was proclaimed, which, from the pen of St. Matthew, talks about women who went to anoint Jesus' body and found an empty tomb and returned and told the disciples.

After the sermon, the baptismal service was followed by the renewal of the baptismal vows, followed by the Eucharistic service.

At the end of the vigil on his behalf and behalf of card. Vinko Puljić, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić wished everyone a happy Easter.

Rev. Marko Stanušić, regent chori of the Sarajevo cathedral, animated the Easter vigil by playing, which was commented during the live broadcast by deacon rev. Vedran Ćosić.
