Hundreds of Catholics from Busovača, Fojnica and Kiseljak walked on the slopes of Zahor mountain on May 30th, to the location of Kaštela - a medieval mountain refuge for Franciscans and Catholics in Central Bosnia.
The Eucharist was celebrated there by the Guardian of Fojnica, OFM Mirko Majdandžić, with the concelebration of six priests.
On the slopes of the mountain Zahor, on the border of Busovača, Kiseljak and Fojnica, above Milodraž, there are traces of the old town of Kaštela, which is mentioned in documents as early as the 15th century and is located at an altitude of 1,158 metres.
According to the stories, friars led by OFM Anđeo Zvizdović hid in the caves, from where he descended on Milodraž to ask Sultan Muhammad II in 1463. a charter called Ahdnama.
Interestingly, most people thought that Kaštela belonged to the municipality of Fojnica, but the location belongs to the municipality of Kiseljak.
What can be seen today, the old town of Kaštela is, in fact, three larger caves located deep in the rocky part of the mountain Zahor. The caves, ie. their openings, are larger, so it is possible for 40 to 50 people to fit in one opening.
