The International symposium of theology and philosophy professors was organised in Sarajevo on April 24th and 25th.
Symposium that was organised by Catholic theological faculty in Zagreb, and co-organisers were Catholic theological faculty in Sarajevo (KBF) and Franciscan theology in Sarajevo, gathered about 50 professors from theology schools from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The program on the first day was held in the KBF in Sarajevo. At the opening of the symposium, the present were greeted by cardinal Vinko Puljić, the Archbishop of Vrhbosna and great chancellor of KBF in Sarajevo.
The gathered were greeted by the Dean of KBF dr. venerable Darko Tomašević who underlined that these kinds of gatherings are an opportunity for getting to know one another, for exchanging experiences, strengthening community, getting to know the situation better, for intellectual enrichment, as well as for getting to know Christ better – through theological thinking.
Also, greetings were said by the Dean of KBF in Zagreb dr. OFM Mario Cifrak who reminded that the symposium is held on the 350th anniversary of the KBF in Zagreb, and pointed out the importance of community (communion).
After greetings, followed first lecture that was held by dr. Pavle Mijović, the professor on KBF in Sarajevo, on the topic “Figure of fugitives. View from negative anthropology”. After his lecture, another one, on the topic: “How a ‘mouse’ can save the Bible?”, was held by dr. Anđelo Maly.
After first two lectures followed a short debate, and then a break, after which next two lectures were held. First was by dr. Taras Barščevski from the KBF in Zagreb, and he named it: “Hungry and thirsty for the Word”. Then followed a lecture by dr. Jakov Rađa from KBF in Zagreb on the topic: “Anthropological approach to theology of religions – example of Jacques Depuis”.
After lectures, followed a discussion and then lunch, after which was organised a visit to the Franciscan monastery in Fojnica with a visit to Kiseljak and Gromiljak.
Second day of the symposium started in the early hours, and after greeting from the Dean of Franciscan theology, dr. OFM Danimir Pezer, followed a lecture from dr. Andrea Filić, from the KBF in Zagreb. The lecture was named: “The contribution of Šagi-Bunić to lightning the Christology problematic between Ephesus council (431.) and Chalcedonian council (451.)”. Second lecture was named: “The contribution of Guardini to Christian anthropology in opinion of dialectical unity of the man”, and was held by dr. Davor Šimunec, professor of dogmatic theology in KBF in Zagreb.
After a short break, the present were greeted by the Provincial of the Franciscan province Bosna Srebrena, OFM Jozo Marinčić, welcoming everyone to the Franciscan building in Nedžarići.
Last lecture was done by dr. Zorica Maros from the KBF in Sarajevo, named: “Evil of violence and ethic of resistance”.
All three lectures gave a fruitful discussion, after which finished 43rd symposium of theology and philosophy professors from Rijeka, Zadar, Zagreb, Đakovo and Sarajevo.
